She was born in Istanbul

She  graduated from the Management Sciences Faculty  of Bosphorus University in 1988,

She  graduated from Istanbul University State Conservatoire  Acting Department in 1989,

She had her masters degree on Cinema in Marmara University Fine Arts,  Cinema TV. Department,

FikretBey11She took her phd degree on Cinema from Marmara University Fine Arts faculty , Cinema T.V. Department.

She is professor at Batman University, Fine Arts, Sinema department

She has been involved in Avant-garde Theater Movement in Turkey since 1990s.

She also co-founded the Oyuncular  Theatre Group in 1991.

She has since acted in several of the group’s productions in leading roles, among them Strindberg’s ‘Miss Julie’, Brecht’s “Antigone” and Chekhov’s plays.

She has directed seven plays for the same theater company;

In 1995  she adapted and directed “Spring is Upheaval” from Onat Kutlar

In 1997 she directed and adapted ” People of Light” from Brecht and Aisiklos

In  1998 she wrote and directed “The Car”

FikretBey10In  2000  she adapted and directed “Street Window” from Kafka stories, with this play, she won the Avni Dilligil prize in Turkey

In 2002 she adapted and directed “Cüce”  “the Dwarf” from Leyla Erbil

In 2004 she adapted and directed “Binbir Gece” “Arabian Nights”

In 2005 she directed and acted “RÜYA” written by Tulin Tankut

As an actress ,  beside theater, she also starred in a number of television series and feature films, including Ali Özgentürk’s “Mektup” (‘Letter’) and Ersin Pertan’, “Acı Gönül”(‘ Crescent Heart’).

She made her directorial  debut in cinema in 1999 with a 35mm short film, “Karşılaşma”(‘Crossing’), which was screened at several festivals in Turkey and overseas. Her second film “Çarpışma”(‘Intersection’), in 2002 nominated Best fiction in İFSAK Short and Documentary Film Festival.
